Artist Statement:Evil is found everywhere, taking any form, and at every moment it affects someone-and it could certainly affect a mere child. It enjoys ensnaring them, coiling around their throats and hands till it assures itself of leaving invisible bruises. But invisible bruises aren't always the case-Child abuse begins often at young ages, and can force a person's mind to seek refuge in something. We must never ignore these horrible cases, and yet at the same time we often find ourselves glancing away at the most obvious signs. My work was meant to be a gateway into someone’s life in order to see another's horrid situation, and how they may very well still be in it.
Artist Statement: Though many of us have good memories of friends and teachers during our adolescence, more than once- children can face bullying during younger years as well. I've personally had bullies growing up myself-and the feeling that most lingers on you is the feeling that people's gazes forever watch you, corner you, and above all make you feel small. It happens worldwide, and still happens to this day, and if it happens to someone whose faced more than enough already (such as our protagonist among these pieces)-then it can spiral them down something they might not be able to crawl out of. Victims don't view those people as human beings, if they're capable of such horrible things-what more can they be but beasts in disguise?

Artist Statement: Unequal pay is something rather common despite the laws that prevent it. In the country of the United States of America, it's been rather quietly noted that women earn seventy-nine cents for every dollar a man earns, and even if it isn't women in general-there are employers and companies who offer unfair wages to their employees throughout the nation. Making this art piece, I tried and hoped to be able to see through the eyes of a person who suffers enough through enough grueling days already, a person who has sand daily in their wallets while others brag about their bill. I can only imagine that the feeling of judging eyes upon the body must feel like a common occurrence.
Artist Statement: We as human beings can't deny we're all addicted to the feeling of happiness. We strive for it-it is our common goal in life to successful, to be wealthy, and to feel content with ourselves however hard it may be. But it isn't always easy to reach contentment, so we instead find alternatives, and like some alternatives.. they aren't always good. Drug abuse is often the result of addiction gone out of one's control, and it accounts for one out of every five deaths in the U.S, alongside a one-half trillion dollar loss in health care expenses and productivity loss. This piece represents a fleeting moment of escape within the drowning of desire, the feeling of ecstasy.
Artist Statement: Have you ever had a point in your life where you've felt controlled? One doesn't specifically have to be abused in the lifetime we've lived in order to feel that way. Being controlled is the sentiment of being deprived a freedom, or perhaps being so sucked into a lie we believe that we simply the play the scripted part. Though this piece was meant to be a manner to express domestic abuse in some shape. I also wanted to to be touching to anyone whose felt a lose of control in their time by someone they love. The coldest surrenders are often made to the ones we love the most.
